Snowstorm 2011 – High School Spring Retreat

So… since winter probably isn’t going to end… lets take advantage of it!!! Once again, we will be crossing over to East River and go play in the snow! It’s the annual High School Spring Retreat at Kamp Kinship. It’ll be a weekend to come together, fellowship, and take advantage of the huge amount of snow we have. It’ll be for a weekend and you can ski, snowboard, tubing, or just hang out.

When: Leaving March 18th at 4:30 pm and return March 20th at 3:30 pm

Where: Kamp Kinship (12145 Paha Sapa Rd, Deadwood, SD)

Cost: All cost includes food, lodging, and transportation. Money will be needed for lunch on the way hom and any food on the way out to Kamp Kinship.

$164 – Ski/Snowboard Rental with lift ticket

$140 – Lift ticket

$141 – Beginner Ski/Snowboard Rental with lift ticket

$114 – Lift ticket (Beginner Ski Area)

$113 – Full day of tubing

$64 – No Skiing/snowboarding/tubing – Just lodging, food, and transportation

Super Bowl XLV Party!

We are getting together again to watch the Super Bowl! It’ll be a great night of food, fellowship, and football.

When – Sunday, February 6th from 4:30-8

Where – At the Worden’s house (1520 S. Riverdale)

What to bring – Yourself, a friend, and if your last name starts with the letter A-M bring chips or a side dish and if it starts with the letter N-Z bring desserts. (Meat and drinks will be provided)

Tubing at Great Bear

We are going to try this again… last year due to many postponements, we didn’t get to go to Great Bear… but this is a new year and we are determined! So gear up, get ready, and lets go TUBING!!!

When: Saturday, Jan 15 from 6-9:30pm

Where: Great Bear

Cost: $12

What to bring: Yourself, a friend, winter weather gear, and a medical release form (at the bottom of the page)

You can either meet us at Great Bear at 6, or meet at Church at 5:30 to car pool. Since we weren’t able to have Burn this week, we didn’t get a sign up past out… so if you are coming, let us know (either commenting on the blog or get a hold of Jared).

One Thing 2010

For everyone who is going to One Thing this year… just a reminder…

1. We leave from Church at the Gate at 7 am… so be there ready to go at 7!

2. The charter bus can play movies so bring what you want… just remember nothing rated R

3. We are staying at the Extended Stay Deluxe in Overland Park, KS.

4. On top of your regular packing, remember to bring money for food while you are down there. Also, bring a medical release form as well… its attached bellow!

Trunk o’ Treat

Come and help out with Church at the Gate’s trunk o’ treat! It is from 4-6 pm this Sunday, Oct 31st. Just come and help hand out candy or sign up to decorate! Help serve the community and the kids in the area! Come dressed up (appropriate costumes) and ready to have fun!

Saturday Night (a)Live

Where: Evangelical Free Church in Windom, MN

Cost: Free!

“Live from Windom… It’s Saturday Night!” It’s time, once again, for the Burn Worship Band to lead worship in Windom, MN at the Evangelical Free Church. It’ll be an awesome night of intercession, worship, and the word. Becca Worden will be giving her testimony and Jeremy Iversen will be speaking again! The event will start at 8 and go till about 10-10:30 pm. If you want to go, meet at Church At The Gate at 5:30 pm so we can be on the road by 6 pm. Don’t miss out on an great opportunity to fellowship with other youth in the Midwest!

Middle School Valley Fair Extravaganza

It’s time for the fall middle school trip! Last year we went to Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, but we are switching it up this year and instead of going South, we are going North towards Valleyfair in Shakopee, MN!

Saturday 7:30am- Meet at church

8- Leave

12- Eat somewhere outside of Valley Fair (Kids need $)

1230- Arrive

6- eat at Valley Fair (Kids need $ for food)

10-11 Leave Valley Fair to Hotel

12- Lights out

Sunday

8- Pool and continental breakfast

9- Devotional

10- Leave for SF

12- Eat on road

3- Arrive in SF

*We will plan on coming back at 3pm on Sunday. Students should bring swimming suit and sleeping bag and one change of clothes. If arrival time changes your student will call you with the new time on the way home. See you Saturday!

Cost: $75 plus $ for 3 meals.

Please fill out the Medical Release Form and bring with you for Saturday morning. You can print out a copy below or get a copy from the Burn Kiosk at church.

Wednesday Small Groups!

Fall small groups are starting up again! There are several to choose from, so pray about what God wants to reveal to you this fall and ask Him to lead you to the perfect small group for you! The groups choices and definitions are located to the right of this page.

Time: 6:30-7:30 pm every Wednesday night!

Back to School Pool Party @ Ecklunds

Join us for our annual pool party, BBQ, and parents’ meeting at the Ecklund’s Residence. Bring your swimsuits, towels, and friends to kick off the new school year and launch off Burn once again! Food will be provided, games will happen, and fun will be had. Parents, don’t believe your kids… YOU ARE INVITED!

Transportation for the church will leave at 6 pm and return at 8:30 pm if needed.

Where: Ecklund Household

When: Wednesday, Aug 25 @ 6:30-8:00pm (Buses will leave at 6:00pm and return at 8:30pm from church)

What to Bring: Swimming attire (no speedos or bikinis)
