Sioux Falls Pheasants Game

 The Sioux Falls Canaries… I mean Pheasants are playing the Lincoln Saltdogs on this Tuesday, Aug 3.  Jeremy Iversen will be singing the National Anthem, so we are going to support him and cheer on the Pheasants as well.  The game starts at 7:05, so if you live on that side of town and want to meet us there, be early.  Otherwise, we are leaving the church promptly by 6:30… so be at the church at 6 so we can get everything situated because the bus is leaving by 6:30 so Jeremy doesn’t miss the opening pitch!

 When – 6 at the church, bus leaves by 6:30 whether you are on it or not.

 Cost – $5 for the ticket + any extra spending money for food or souvenirs

Winner Mission Trip

Dates: July 23rd-28th

Cost: $200.00 (Includes lodging, transportation, insurance)

Location: Winner, SD and Mission, SD

Lodging: Winner Assembly of God, Winner, SD

Middle School: Mega Sports Camp in Winner, SD

Mega Sports Camp is a program using certain sports and linking evangelism and discipleship for age appropriate scenarios.  This camp is lead by Tyler Tufte, Middle School Pastor at First Assembly of God.  The students will spend time prayer walking, building relationships and evangelizing areas of Winner, SD.  Students will also have the opportunity to lead the Sunday morning service at Winner Assembly of God.

High School: Supernatural Evangelism (The Ultimate Treasure Hunt)

High school students will have the opportunity to learn that they are first of all treasured by God and learn there value in the Kingdom of God. They will learn how to hear the voice of God and to find the treasure that God has created for them to minister to that day. There is a large amount of time spent sitting in the presence of God and hearing “clues” that lead to that days “hunt.” Students will spend that time getting prepared to go onto the reservation in Mission, SD to minister to the native population. They will look for the things that God gave them and bring healing evangelism to those they come in contact with. Students will also have the opportunity to lead the Sunday morning service at Winner Assembly of God.

2010 Summer Missions Application

6th Grade Welcome Night

When: May 19th, 6:30-7:30pm

We will be welcoming all current 5th graders into our Burn Student Ministries.  All students are encouraged to bring appropriate swim wear.  We will be setting up our gigantic Slip & Slide if weather permits, otherwise we will have inside games.  Students will be introduced to all leaders, schedules, summer plans etc…  Parents are welcome to come participate, and our leadership team will be willing to answer any questions or concerns you might have about Burn Student Ministries.  We are extremely excited to help raise up this generation into passionate pursuers of God!

3rd Annual Camping Trip to Oakwood Lakes

What: Burn Camping Trip

When: May 22nd-May 23rd, we will leave the church parking lot Saturday, May 22nd at 10am. We will be returning to the church Sunday, May 23rd at Noon.

Where: Oakwood Lakes State Park (10 miles Northwest of Brookings).

Cost: $10 per person

What to bring: Clothes for 2 days, swimming suits (no bikinis or speedos), Bible, notebook, pen, sleeping bag, pillow, walking/running shoes.

Activities: Swimming, Hiking, Fishing, Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Frisbee Golf, Camp Fire and Food.

All upcoming 6th graders are welcome!

Saturday Night (a)Live

When:  May 8 from 8 pm to 10 pm

Where:  Windom Evangelical Free Church in Windom, MN

Cost:  Free!

We are starting a gathering of Youth and Young Adults who would like to meet up for a night of Worship and Fellowship.  We are bringing the Burn Worship Band to do worship, and we have a guest speaker, our own Jeremy Iversen, who will challenge you with a powerful message.  Don’t miss out on this amazing night to encounter God in a new way!

Game & Movie Night

When: April 24th from 7-10m

Where: Church at the Gate

Cost: Free!

We will be playing games, watching movies and eating snacks.  Join us for basketball, dodgeball, volleyball and kickball in the gym or outside if weather permits.  We will be playing ping-pong, foosball and board games in the lounge room. In the youth room we will watch “Blindside” and play Disney’s “Scene It.”  Invite your friends as we will hear a testimony on God’s awesomeness!

High School Ski Trip

Who:  All High Schoolers and 8th graders

What:  Ski Trip to Terry Peak

When:  Friday, March 19th 5pm – Sunday, March 21st 5pm

Cost:  $75 for tubers, $90 for skiing or snowboarding, $100 for skiing or snowboarding plus rentals

We will be staying at Kamp Kinship.  Tubers will be going to Mystic Miner and Skiers/Snowboarders will head to Terry Peak.  All food will be provided for except Friday nights meal on the road.  Please bring an extra $5 for food and snacks.

• Super Bowl Party– February 7th from 5:30-9:00pm at the Otamendi’s residence at 5820 King Arthur Drive.  Take 26th St to Valley View Road, turn South to Westminster Drive and turn East, King Arthur will be on the South.  Meat and drinks will be provided.  Last names (A-M) please bring chips, (N-Z) desserts.
